![]() ![]() It has no rhyming words and the way it was written did not allow me to put it to music. Very good book, and makes children learn to read and laugh and makes adults remember what installs the love of reading is the sheer joy and adventure found in the pages of atories like this. This is a wonderful book that I have fond memories reading. We always loved the "Snort"-who was not his mother-and the end when the baby bird can tell his mother who is NOT his mother and who is his mother and what he is a BIRD! I, my daughters, and now grandaughter loved the silliness and yet heartwarming story. After being read the story a child can re-tell the story easilyīecause it is that memorable and endearing-and funny-it sticks in a child's memory-encouraging them to be able to feel good about learning. The story is so good and yet even a non-reader can surmise the story through the pictures. It is a teaching aid for its simple text and engaging pictures. In this book a baby bird hatches and through a comedy of errors searches for his mother. ![]() This book holds up well over time-a contemporary book to compare it with that would have a similar style is "Is Your Mama a Llama?". I passed this tradition down and my daughters enjoyed me reading this to them and reading this book to me. When The Cat in the Hat was published in 1957 as the first Beginner Book, it revolutionized reading. I bought this book because it was the FIRST book I learned to read-and always remembered it as such.
